ABOUT US

Behind the Scenes

Miss Anna Mae Rademacher, a retired teacher as well as owner and proprietor of the Farmers’ Merchant Café next door and our unofficial First Street Ambassador, purchased this sadly neglected building in 2011. In 2012 with determination and a dream, she created a place for talented and skilled local and regional Missouri Artists to exhibit, sell, demonstrate and teach their Art.

In May 2015, Anna Mae sold the Farmers’ Merchant Café to focus more on the gallery and in July of 2015, AWOM became a 501©3 a Not for Profit Corporation. Our mission is to promote the Arts through Education, Exhibits and Outreach while providing a venue that will also enhance historic downtown Owensville. The funds for AWOM, come from our annual membership fee from Artist, Artisan, Business and Community members, as well as donors and supporters of the Arts. Thank You for Your interest in AWOM; To read more about our history go to the about page.

OUR PROJECTS

Collaborative & Innovative

CONTINUED EDUCATION & SOCIAL OUTREACH

We continue artist support by bringing education and social  opportunities to our  region for creatives that would like to build their talents and broaden their circle. We are a network that help artist make sure they are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We mentor young people who may not know the tools they need to thrive. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at ART Works On MAIN Gallery, and a source of much success for our Arts Organization. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program.

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to educate. We have a unique platform that empowers our community and delivers the support they need  to work together to achieve their goals, We help them dream , create and see ideas transform into reality. Its a great feeling to be involved in the things you care about and be able to find a voice through art.

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements.
